4th Grade TX Party 2011

I am finishing my 7th year teaching at Key Elementary, and each year I've been lucky enough to be a part of the 4th grade TX Party. This is an awesome day organized by our 4th grade parents to culminate our study of TX History in 4th grade. We do TX crafts, line dance, play horse shoes, learn to rope, have potato sack races, eat BBQ (some years) hot dogs (other years), drink Dr Pepper, pose with a longhorn (some years) or a pony (this year), and have a day full of TX size fun! I look forward to it every year, but the older I get the more it tires me! Ha!! :) Wouldn't trade it though! Here I am with my sweet 4th graders!

This year one of our super creative parents made "Wanted" signs for the teachers

Soooooo funny!!

Hearing about the pony from cowboy Ticknor

There is even a TX tall tale play ever year! The kids really get into it!

Pictures With The Cousins

We've had the tradition to get yearly pictures with the Stewart cousins (the only cousins) since Carson was 6 months old, so 6 years now. Last week we met at JC Penney to get them done. The little ones were way excited, and Cade was thrilled...ha! Fun times!! :)

Mavs Playoffs Round One...game #5!

We got to go to another Mavs playoff game last Monday. I was a little worried because just before the game I had to get another stage of my dental implant complete, and boy it was way more painful than I thought it would be! Thank God after a prescription strength ibuprofen and a couple Rum and diets, I was doing good!
This game was also against Portland, and they won!! We ate at our new favorite spot on Victory, Hard Rock Cafe. We love it because they have a safe parking garage for only $5, and if you park there you get 20% off your meal! An added bonus is that if we ever bring the little ones, kids 10 and under eat free Monday-Friday. They also have the yummiest drink ever called "Tickled Pink". I've been craving it for a week now!

Such energy at The AAC

After the game the drum line played in the lobby...fun times!

Just Because They're Sweet...

I love the relationship that these 2 have...just a few days shy of 16 months apart they are closer than close can get. They fight like cats and dogs and play like best friends!! Big bro and his sissy Ella Belle.

Easter 2011

A week ago we celebrated a wonderful Easter! We spent the morning at home, just the 6 of us, and then we headed to Carrollton to spend time with Grancie, Robin, and Uncle Caleb.

The Easter Bunny brought lots of our favorite things! A bunny gown, beach toys for our summer trip to Florida, peace sign flip flops, princess stuff and waaayyyy too much candy! I think this was Em's stack once she had sifted through it.

The Easter Bunny also brought a dozen doughnuts from Krispy Kreme! Love that it's less than a mile from our house! They had special egg sprinkled doughnuts! Love that I can buy them festive doughnuts, even though I haven't put a doughnut in my mouth since I was in high school. I live vicariously through my doughnut lovin' babies!

Ready to go hunt the eggs that the Easter Bunny left in the yard! The girls sported their new gowns while Car-man wore a Peters Colony Panthers shirt...guess I should've had him put on a pair of shorts!

Here is what my 12 year old thinks of hunting eggs in the yard at 8:00 am....oh the pre-teen years.

Grancie's dog Levi loves to carry sticks!! He was hitting us all with this huge branch! So funny!
