My 1st Half Marathon

This is a terrible picture, but it documents the morning of something that I have always wanted to accomplish...running a 1/2 marathon. I have been training since August, and on Sunday morning I ran the 13.1 mile Dallas Whiterock Half Marathon. It was an amazing experience that I plan to do again. I posted my results...my time was 7 minutes less than my goal time, which made me very happy!

WWE Monday Night Raw at The AA Center

I like to call my friend Brenda "the event coordinator", because that is what she truly is. She has planned fun things for us to do together since our boys were toddlers. If I remember right our first planned event was "Sesame Street Live" when Cade was 2 and Colt was 3. And since then she has kept her eyes and ears open for fun things that we could take the kids to. From Mavs games, to Stars games, a Wierd Al Yankovich concert, the circus, numerous children's' plays....the list is a mile long! We have had so much fun together!!
The most recent event was last Monday 12/7. Brenda heard that WWE was coming to town, and she knew our boys would LOVE it! Believe me it did NOT disappoint! Cade is already asking if we can go next time WWE comes to town!
Cade made a poster the night before the event...he was soooo pumped!!

Before heading to the AA Center to see the show we took the boys to Hooters for their 1st time.
Not because we are trying to expose our boys to the almost naked waitresses, but because it was close to where we were going...nevertheless the boys had fun!
Brenda had originally told Colt that they were meeting us for a Mavs game, and she let Cade surprise him with the news that we were seeing WWE. The look on his face was priceless! :)

Carson's pre-K/K flag football team played in the City Championships at UTA Stadium the first weekend in December. It was freeeeeezing this particular day, so Carson didn't enjoy the experience as much as he would of if the weather would have been better.

Thanksgiving in The Country '09

Thanksgiving passed weeks ago, yet I am just now getting around to posting about it. I guess, better late than never!
We had a great day visit in Texarkana at my grandparents' house, and we visited with family that we have been missing.
Wister, my grandad, got to take a field trip from the nursing home to have Thanksgiving with all of us. It is the first time that he has been back to his real home since April.
The kids enjoyed playing with their great-Uncle Clay, who is like a big kid, and they had a blast riding the 4-wheelers with their cousins. They are pumped that we get to visit Texarkana again for Christmas in less than a week. This time we get to spend the night, and they are thrilled!

Feast Day at Preschool

On Monday I went to the little ones' feasts at their preschool. I loved getting to see them in action in their classrooms! I got pictures with Ella and Carson, but Miss Em wanted nothing to do with having her picture taken in class. I think she did not want to be the center of attention, because later she told me that her teacher would have laughed at her if she had her picture taken in class. So like her mama back in the day! Ha!

Ashlyn's 5th Birthday Party

The kids' sweet friend Ashlyn had her 5th birthday party at Joe T. Garcia's last weekend. Great fun was had by all who came! It was quite chilly, so we sat indoors, but the scene was perfect and the kids had a blast! Afterwards, all of the kiddos went home with Ashlyn, Ms. Aimee, and Mr. Chad to have a slumber party! Perfect party if you ask me!!
